Building on a legacy: Waupun Memorial Hospital’s new eye care clinic is a long-term vision brought to life

Waupun Memorial hospital eye clinic

Since joining the SSM Health Family, Waupun Memorial Hospital (WMH) continues to build on the founder’s vision of providing full-range inpatient and outpatient health services to residents of Waupun and surrounding communities. The latest advancement brings a new eye care clinic to WMH.

Zimmerman has completed several renovation projects at WMH throughout our 25+ years of collaboration. One of those projects is an eye care clinic located on the lower level of the hospital’s two-story addition.

This assignment provides a nearly 4,000 sq. ft. clinic that features seven exam rooms, a laser/procedure room, an optical coherence tomography (OCT) scan room, three provider offices and a contact lens room. Easy patient access is provided by a dedicated exterior entrance into the clinic’s reception and waiting area. The reception space grants access to both the exam and clinical spaces. It also boasts an on-site retail optical shop for patients to visit following appointments.

Waupun Memorial Hospital is now able to offer its patients the services of an ophthalmologist, two optometrists, and five eye care assistants using advanced diagnostic capabilities. Additionally, the services of a retina specialist and pediatric ophthalmologist will be available. Patients will have the convenience of receiving eye surgical procedures within the hospital thanks to its direct connection.
