Actuant (Enerpac Tool Group) Headquarters

Due to the growth of their broad-ranging global market segments, the Enerpac Corporation, (a division of Actuant), was sorely in need of additional space at their current facility. Five building additions and numerous departmental moves later, the operations team clearly identified that a new facility would be the only viable solution that would sustainably allow for the company’s continued evolution and growth.

Zimmerman provided design for this 165,000-square-foot office and industrial facility in Columbus Wisconsin.  Provisions for an additional 120,000 square-foot expansion are included in the design and plans developed to facilitate potential expansion in either one or two phases. The team decided on a parcel of land at the entry of Columbus, within what will ultimately become the Gateway to Columbus Business Park. Because of the high profile of the building and site relative to the city of Columbus, a strong brand identity is incorporated as part of the design for the exterior of the building. The resulting solution provides both Enerpac and the city with an identifiable gateway building with a distinct international character that plays to Enerpac’s global markets.
