JAX INC.’s new headquarters sets the stage for remarkable growth and product innovation

JAX INC. is at the forefront of niche-based lubricants, including those used within food and beverage production environments. Ongoing innovation and exceptional product continue to drive demand for JAX’s quality products today. To maintain market leadership, JAX made the investment to increase product development and production capabilities by replacing its Menomonee Falls facility.

Zimmerman delivered comprehensive architectural and engineering design services for this project. The single-story, double-height building spans 130,000 sq. ft., including 6,000 sq. ft. of internal mezzanines for research labs and production management. By analyzing JAX’s existing operations, the design team improved key manufacturing processes, such as streamlining the movement of raw materials through production to packaging and shipping.

The project features 92,000 sq. ft. for manufacturing, warehouse, and lab functions, alongside 32,000 sq. ft. of office space. The warehouse can support future expansions. A two-story office building wraps around a corner of the structure, forming a primary entrance for administrative staff, customers, and visitors. This entry is marked by a striking two-story stone wall, which separates public and private office areas.

Offices, located near the southeast entry, include co-working spaces tailored for product development brainstorming. The cutting-edge technology center enhances innovation within JAX’s team and with their customers. The warehouse boosts production workflow efficiency and significantly increases capacity.

Vertical and horizontal fins line the office windows, providing shade and reducing glare. Employees benefit from a dedicated break room and an outdoor, covered dining area. This space overlooks nearby greenery, a retention pond, and a scenic mile-long walking trail, offering staff moments of tranquility.
