Fond du Lac Health Plaza broadens their care with major optical and surgical center additions

Fond du Lac Health Plaza

Prior to the merger with SSM Health, Agnesian Healthcare envisioned a single-source, free-standing surgery center and healthcare clinic that would consolidate the majority of its outpatient services. Due to growth in patient volume for the original center, an expansion was later planned, bringing additional patient service lines onto what is now called the SSM Fond du Lac Health Plaza Campus.

Zimmerman designed the original building (53,000 sq. ft.) and later added an expansion (50,000 sq. ft.) to help SSM Health boost their healthcare programming.

One major component of the Fond du Lac Health Plaza is a 10,000 sq. ft. ophthalmology department and optical center. The new ophthalmology department features: a distinct entry (that also acts as the main entrance to the optical center), a patient lobby, 15 exam/treatment rooms, four screening rooms, six physician offices, four study rooms, a laser room, minor surgery room, medical records room, staff amenity spaces, and support spaces including dedicated clean and soiled holding rooms. The optical center features a retail display area, shop lab, work room, and storage.
